Anyone ever seen this Limited Edition sticker on a T/A headlamp door?
My 1987 Trans Am has a "Limited Edition" sticker on the face of the closed passenger side headlamp door. Does anyone recognize this sticker, and if so, know it's meaning or source?
I've always considered myself somewhat of a 3rd gen geek because I was 14 in '82 at the beginning of the gen and wanted one terribly as a teenager. Due to this I followed the evolution of the cars through the '80s and managed to know the different variations, versions and editions of the F bodies, and most of the differences between them. That said, I have no clue about this limited edition sticker on my car.
My T/A otherwise appears to be bone factory stock inside and out, and all original with the exception of tires, battery, belts, etc. There are no other limited edition references on the car. The font of the text on the sticker does not match nor compliment what Pontiac otherwise used on this car or anything associated with it from the era. That leads me to believe someone other than GM placed it there for whatever reason, and it means nothing. Yet you can tell the sticker itself was designed to perfectly fit the space it occupies. It's not hand cut. So someone made some effort when producing it, therefore there are probably more out there. This is why I have not fully dismissed it's validity.
Personally I do not believe my T/A is limited edition in any way. BUT, before I peel it off the headlamp door I want to be sure. So, do any of the hard core knowledgeable originality guys know or have any ideas about it?
In the first pic that little logo looking part to the left says "L/E" inside the circle.

That's most likely a dealership or aftermarket item. There was no "Limited Edition" 1987 Trans Am from the factory.
Sometimes dealerships dressed up cars with Special or Limited edition stickers to help with sales. Additionally, some of those items could be purchased aftermarket. You could get Special or Limited Edition stickers that would fit right inside the small indentation of the front side of the door handles.

I think you can get those a pep boys or something. I flipped an 84 base firebird that had the same stickers on the door handles.
