found a 82 Trans am recaro parts car- worth it?

I'm always looking for parts cars.
This one happens to be an 82 (I think he said)Trans Am Recaro.
Seats in pics look to be perfect.
Says the 305 CF is all there and complete.
The bad- hit hard in frame rail so it can't be repaired safely.
What do you think would be a good price to pay- I was looking at data- and it seems there are only 2000 made?
Thanks for your input!

Rare car indeed, it would be worth saving. Any picture of the damage ?

Depends if it's been rotting under a tree for 10 years or covered after being babied it's whole life!

And anything can be repaired safely with time/money/dedication. Rare cars deserve it and thirdgens are getting more and more collectible!

Just don't turn it into K.I.T.T.

Seats are worth a lot.
I've found all the 82-84 nose stuff and gfx are in high demand these days.
I'm always interested in a recaro parts car.

Re: found a 82 Trans am recaro parts car- worth it?

Is it being sold as a parts car? If it's not going to be restored as a Recaro and just used soley for parts, I wouldn't pay too much for it. The only Recaro parts your getting are the seats and door handles. Everything else can be had on any other Trans Am. Does it have the original rims and hub caps? Even then you could paint the standard ones gold so nothing special there either, that is if you even want the original rims or care about such a thing. Yeah, there were only 2000 made, but like I said, if not being restored/numbers matching I wouldn't pay top dollar for a seat and door handle package used as a parts car.
