As cool as that car is... I wish him the best of luck... for $50K I would just be way better off getting one of the run-of-the-mill T-Top Leather cars.

Re: rare hardtop cloth interior tta on craigslist $50k

I fully understand how rarity can be attractive, however, I have never found the deletion of options to be an incentive when car buying. (That being said, the cloth interior will still look good long after the leather has dried up and cracked like an old lady in Boca!)

The 94 25th edition has the same deal - T-Tops & CD were the only two options - you can't give a hard top away these days!

Not to go all 4th gen, but I was told that with the 4th gens if you have a "hard top" you find a T-top in a junkyard you can take the pieces off and just convert it. It is all plastic up there on the hard top... I looked at a purple 1994 "Formula V8" years ago, if it was a manual shift or a yellow car I might have bought it.

How about the deletion of options to create a 1LE

I agree on the Cloth. The leather looks so awesome on the TTA's
I would however take cloth over leather on a worn out daily driver, but otherwise, no thanks

I agree with both of you, never is probably the wrong word to use. Seldom?

As for the 1LE cars - deletion is an important part of the equation but with so many of them having been built, I think the ones that do have options, like leather and t-tops will be far more interesting and valuable in the longer term than those that followed the strict bare bones formula.

Could a 1LE be ordered with some creature comforts? I am 1LE illiterate.
I am a sucker for options. Honestly the only reason I still have my 87 Iroc
after 25 years, is because it supposedly had every option for 87. At least I think it does. haha. I bought it from a friend in 1992 it was originally ordered supposedly with every option. Back then there was no way to confirm, I'm pretty sure I didn't know what RPO meant.

For me, I love the way that the GTAs and TTAs look in hardtop form, the lines flow very nicely IMO... I'd love to have one someday, leather or cloth

Re: rare hardtop cloth interior tta on craigslist $50k

The thing is the 1LE was not an option delete car, in some cases that is how you got the 1LE option, for the most part I believe most every other option has been seen with a 1LE... A/C & 1LE - Check,
T-tops and 1LE - Check
Power Windows, Locks, Cruise, Radios, rear defog, rear hatch release - All Check
Plus 1LE mandated the Performance goodies...
Although many 1LE cars seemed to come with delete everything, it was not necessarily the mandate.

Yes

My 1991 1LE Formula has T-Tops and pretty much everything else. My 1991 1LE Z28 has Leather, power locks, rear defroster and the Cassette Stereo.

If you have one to give away, I'll take it! I much prefer the hardtop version. To me, the lines (at the b-pillar/sail panel) have a nostalgic look as in the early small rear window 2nd gens. (Always likes those models).
