I asked these questions to a couple ex-GM Van Nuys plant workers, but I wanted to also post it here to see if anyone has any insight into the day-to-day operations at the Van Nuys plant during the first few years of the third gen cars. I will let you guys know if I get answers from them, but in the meantime...

1. Did the assembly line usually run on Saturdays and/or Sundays?

2. Were there standard times during the year when the plant would be shut down? For example - the week of Christmas? What were those times when the plant was normally idle?

3. Was there any down time between model years? What month did that typically occur and how long was it down?
