Hood Shocks

Hi all, I just purchased a 1988 IrocZ and wanted to replace the hood shocks. I was wondering which direction the shock came on these cars from GM. I have a 1988 sport coupe and they are a different direction. Any help will be appreciated. I am trying to keep this car as original as possible. Thanks

Agreed. With the seal down it helps keep oil on the seal and prevents it from drying out sooner.

Re: Hood Shocks

Interesting...every thirdgen I've owned had the shaft at the top so of course I've continued that direction and hadn't really thought about it much. Guess I'll be swapping that on both cars this weekend. Learn something every day I guess.
