Orange Metallic

Code 63U.
1/2 year only color.
Introduced mid year.

My my question is, what is mid year for 1988 Pontiac?
I have a 88 Formula 350 code 63U and mfg date 12/87. What? So 12/87 is mid year or after.
Doesn't make sense.

Re: Orange Metallic

Generally "mid-year" means not available at the beginning of the model year.

Re: Orange Metallic

In this case, I really think there was an exact halfway point of production. I've read that the color Yellow was replaced halfway on production run with color Orange Metallic. 12/87 sure seems early for mid production year 88. Which brings me to my next question. Would PHS be able to tell me the VIN of the first Orange Metallic Formula 350 off the line?
