All Available Options

I've been doing a lot of research to try and figure out which way I should go with my current build, and what cars I should keep an eye out for. I saw another thread about the "Holy Grail" of third gens, and it got me wondering. Does anyone know where I might find a list of all available options for specific years?

Also, does anyone know a way I would be able to find out the dealership my car was originally sold at, and possibly get myself another window sticker?

P.S. If there is a current thread regarding it, if someone could please point me in the right direction.

Re: All Available Options

"Holy Grail" means different things to different people. Some might want a coupe w hardtop, others, optional t-tops. Some might want a convertible.
Stick or auto? Radio delete, no AC, a-la 1LE?
Sometimes less is more... but not always.

What is your preference? Figure that, and follow your lead...

Re: All Available Options

There is a company that can provide you with a replica window sticker, but you need to know enough to verify it's accuracy. There have been many here that have received a replica that is very incorrect. If you have a trashed copy of the original, that would help in the replacement accuracy.

Also, GM Archives can provide you with an original invoice on your car. That invoice lists the delivered to dealer, and most of the options the car was ordered with.

As to what options you should look for, it depends on what you want. For example, if you said you wanted the top performance IROC-Z, you would probably be told to look for an '87 with the 350, or an '88-'90 350, with G92. The reason for the difference, is 1987 came standard with the G92 performance rear axle on the 350, where '88-'90, it was an option. Also, if you said you wanted leather, that started in 1987, so 1985-86 would be out. If you wanted a factory yellow IROC-Z, you're restricted to 1985-1987. If it has to be yellow and a 350, then you're stuck with 1987 only.

So, it depends on what you want as far as options to know what year to get. There is a site that has the original Dealer Order Guide in PDF, but I don't know where to find that. I downloaded them so I never use the website.

I have an image in mind of what my "Holy Grail" is, but I'm honestly wondering if it isn't better to simply go by options available for my particular year...

My only dilemma is that I'm having some trouble locating the RPO Sheet. The console lid has been misplaced among dozens of parts at the shop I bought the car from, and I'm still trying to track it down. The previous owners didn't care about this car very much because a lot of original pieces are missing or changed to aftermarket

I'll take a look at the GM Archives, I'd very much like to gather all the paperwork on this car that I can.

Do you by chance still have that Guide downloaded and are able to share? I'll have to do some digging if not and find it.
