I went with your clue, "flyer," but the only thing that came to mind was Top Gun, so I searched pictures of Tom Cruise's uniforms and jackets, but didn't see that patch on anything. My searches did reveal a variety of GMAD and GMAD Van Nuys patches, though.

Wouldn't have guessed Terminator.
