Iroc Newbie HELP!!

Hi guys!

Been reading the forums here for years but finally actually got a iroc ( I think )

I just picked up a new iroc-z here is a picture and the centre console sticker, vin is matching!

I think this is a real iroc z because of the z28 code.
Can the forum members enlighten me a little bit on what exactly I am dealing with in regards to the other codes, interior is red...

thanks!

Sounds like you're looking for confirmation about the car being an IROC. Here's a good article, in the FAQ, that covers this topic:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...-car-iroc.html

Your car is a 1988. You have the Z28 code. All Z28s for 1988 were IROCs.

Car is a Z49 code, so it's a Canada car and will have metric gauges. Otherwise, it's fairly typical and the codes can be searched (LB9 - 305TPI, MX0 - automatic transmission, etc.)

Re: Iroc Newbie HELP!!

You have kind of interesting car in that it's a LB9, auto, G92. You have a 3.23 rear axle ratio vs the standard 2.73 and a KC4 oil cooler. I'm guessing that you also have a 145 mph speedo.

Re: Iroc Newbie HELP!!

Since the car is a Canada car, Compnine has records of 695 with the LB9 and MX0 in the Z28 for 1988. They show 145 of those having the G92 option.
