I need suggestions on what I should price my car. I've never sold any vehicle and I'm just not sure what mine is worth. Friends have told me $10,500 to get back what I put into it but that seems too steep to me. It's a 1986 Berlinetta sport coupe. (automatic) I bought it in 2018 as a project car and I finished it in 2020. I replaced the 2.8 mpfi with a 5.7 TPI from a wrecked 1987 GTA that only had 40,000 original miles on it. It now has 42,000 on it. It runs great with no issues and passes inspection. Squeaks the tires when going into 2nd gear. I just never have time to drive it and don't want it to sit in a barn.
New parts:
F/R struts and springs, F/R brakes, UMI front stabilizer bar, UMI control arms, UMI panhard bar, carpet, door panels, headliner, all weather stripping, all speakers, Battery, tires, V8 instrument panel, window motors, Fuel pump, Fuel injectors, Distributor, Magna flow exhaust (nothing fancy and not loud), catalytic, shift linkage, Jeep steering shaft, Radiator, Condenser, accumulator, dual Electric fans, plastic dash cover, plugs and wires, water pump and every sensor/relay on the engine is new.
Problems:
crack across whole windshield. Hard to see in the pic but it's there.
The a/c doesn't work. I was in the middle of retrofitting it for R134 but never finished it. I think it may need a new compressor and evaporator.
The pull-down motor for the hatch was removed. I actually fixed it but then the new plastic parts broke again. Figures.
The paint is fading and peeling in some spots.
I also have a set of classic wheels for it. (see pic) One of them is painted black. And the spare is the same style only blue.
I appreciate any help or offers.
Re: Selling my 86 berlinetta project price suggestions?
If you have friends that will cough up that kind of money for this particular car, take it and run. Otherwise I think you will be disappointed because there is just not anywhere near $10,500.00 worth there. Sorry, just an honest opinion.

That is the price range I was thinking. Would make a good base to build off of. Someone could put some Z28 ground effects on, paint and would have a nice solid car.

IMO, what's really bringing down the potential sale price of your Camaro (providing, as you stated, that the car runs well) is the need for a complete repaint. Have you considered doing that and restoring/replacing the original wheels, and then offering it for sale?
