Instrument panel lens for the Firebirds would be nice as well, replacements are available for generations prior to ours.

I don't. Doubt they'd tell me anyway.

The new core was perfect and beautiful, but they bent my tanks slightly when installing them onto the new core, so the finished product wouldn't fit. I took the backer board with me when I dropped off my old core and showed them how PRECISE the fit, zero margin for error. I intended for them to keep it, but they said, no worries, we don't need it, it'll be right. Famous last words.

Anyone who can solder can probably redo their own if they can get ahold of a new core. It's just a matter of sweating the tanks off of the old core and soldering them onto a new core. I should've just kept their botched job and tried to correct it myself. They probably still have the core too. Maybe I will call them.

But Bruce should have enough sources to get it done, IF he wanted to do it. And he's got a whole yard full of 3rdgens that probably still have their OE heater cores in them. He could easily remove one and send it to someone who could make them. He'd be fulfilling a genuine NEED.

Original Air re-cores them or used to. Before I shopped locally, I emailed OA. Either they still do it, but the price was insane, or they no longer did it. But I believe their source was also in Mexico, so it's likely the same source.

Edit: A genuine, old-school radiator shop should be able to locate cores, so if people know of one in or near their towns, then that's who to contact.

I'm curious why the stopped selling those Trans Am / GTA door pull trim spacers that always crack, break and pieces fall out. I bought a set last year, one of their reproduction parts, and it looked good. They removed them from their site months ago.

No idea, JT. It'd be cool if Bruce could stop by and tell us.

I tagged Hawks in that discussion but they didn't respond. There are others that know Bruce much more than I.

I need those. It's the only part of my interior that's missing.

We also need reproduction trim pieces for the rear of the headliner. All of the originals are very brittle with broken screw holes. I had to fiberglass the backside of mine to strengthen it up.

Yeah, all mine have faded to a wonderful shade of pink. I keep looking at Hawks and eBay but they're total unobtanium. If I recall, though, Hawks didn't make those but were only reselling them....but for the life of me, I can't remember which company actually made the reproductions.

Judging by how those turned out I bet they could do a nice job replicating the originals.

I purchased a set of flame red emblems from pontiworld.co.au for $205. I believe they had all colors. Took 3 weeks to arrive since it was shipped from Australia. Great communication from them as well.

Nice catch! No more bright red kits but I have NOS front bumper emblem which they don’t have so I can likely piece together what I need, Thanks again.
