I gotta call last night from a friend that asked me my opinion as to a 89 black GTA 5.7 5 speed Camel? leather interior that he has found. I was gathering my thoughts about the time he said "Mike, it's got less than 225 original miles. It's 100% for real & legit ". I told him we'd talk more this weekend. I know gonna try & talk him into looking at it as just a flip. As there is lots a meat available on this bone : )

I've heard several RUMORS recently from many others about this 225 mile 89 GTA - but oddly enough I have seen no actual pics of this car
Lots of chatter on the FB groups about it - so lets see it !!! I'm wondering if it's for real - until I see a FS ad with pics I think it's probably BS

Well to be honest, it was actually lower than the 225 I stated. I didnt wanna "nail it" & someone actually see this 'premature post'. I will add we are down south & it would definitely be a rode trip for us to go get it. I will absolutely post any pics I get forwarded IF it is gonna be just a flip~ thanks

$4,665.00 in options but no power mirrors. What's up with that? It's got power windows, power door locks, power decklid release, and a power antenna, With power everything else you would think it would have power mirrors.
Below are the Luxury one piece molded door panels from a 1987 Pontiac Firebird in Flame Red Metallic with Carmine Red cloth interior and the B20 Luxury Trim Group. This car has the same power options as the 1987 Trans Am in this thread. Power windows, power locks, manual mirrors. This 1987 Firebird has the map pockets.
B20 Luxury Trim Group consists of several things with one being door map pockets as stated on this car's window sticker. Where are the door map pockets?
Door map pockets weren't available with manual crank windows just like on 90-92 Firebirds you couldn't get the door cup holder storage pockets with manual crank windows. But this car has power windows. Personally I prefer these Luxury one piece molded door panels without the map pockets. Just looks cleaner to me. Don't even get me started on the horrible 90-92 door cup holders. I hate those things.

I believe it was determined that the early cars with the upgraded door panels did not get the map pockets. There are a few other 1987s with the same lack of map pockets.
One thing this Trans Am is missing among all the options is the WS6. The car is fairly equipped. Perhaps they didn't want the upgraded WS6 suspension or they just wanted the car to look well optioned.

True, WS6 isn't on the window sticker, but the dash has the Performance Suspension emblem, so there must be some combination of options that warranted some "performance" features.
1987 LB9 engine with an automatic would have the peanut cam. But all 1986 LB9s do too, and it doesn't seem to have negatively affected their values at auctions.
My 1987 Formula is a late December 86 build, with the B20 option, and it doesn't have the map pockets. I spent, what seemed like, about 1/4 of my life playing in junkyards in the 2000s when 3rdgens were plentiful, and I've only seen the map pockets in GTAs and some TAs, so I always figured Formulas and base Firebirds with the B20 option received door panels without the map pockets as a way to separate them from "upper" models. The ones I've seen with, the pockets got floppy throughout the years anyway, so I don't really care what the rhyme or reason was for pockets vs no pockets. I'm just happy mine are without pockets because I like the cleaner look.
There's that AAA code again that was debated in another thread: "4-Way Manual Seat Adjuster - Delete," with a small credit. In the other thread, it was stated that AAA is "Additional Standard Equipment" and that all Firebirds and Formulas had AAA. So AAA is either "4-way Manual Seat Adjuster - Delete," or AAA is labeled differently on each car, depending upon what piece of "Additional Standard Equipment" the car did or didn't receive.

The Performance suspension badge does not mean WS6. WS6 cars came with the badge, yes, but the badge was also used on the Trans Ams that didn't have WS6. The badge alone cannot be a gauge to determine WS6 or not. The Trans Am came standard with the upgraded suspension, which was optional on the Firebird. The WS6 was yet another option above those levels.
Additionally, this car has the 15" wheels. That is another indication that this car doesn't have WS6. WS6 came with 16" wheels on these years.

Congrats on your new to you 87 Trans Am. The 87's Trans Ams and GTAs in Flame Red Metallic with Carmine Red interiors are IMHO the best looking Firebirds. Thanks for posting the SPID and Window Sticker.
Your car has the F41 Firm Ride suspension which is in between the base and WS6 suspension. A 2.73 limited slip 10 bolt differential, and cast iron front disc with rear aluminum drum brakes. Much better than having the trouble prone Delco-Moraine J65 4 wheel disc brakes used on 88 and older cars.
