David T's in Edmonton Alberta is For Sale
Been there more than once.
Anyone interested? The 9 acres it sits on would be worth a fortune in and of itself.

i've tried purchasing items from this place a few times and the prices quoted were just insane. i was even somewhat willing to buy but he wouldn't provide pictures of the parts I was interested in. i wasn't willing to buy an expensive part that might not be any better than what i already have. i can't even imagine what he'd want for his entire operation - $800M!?!?!?!? hopefully someone does take this place over and start charging reasonable prices for this stuff.

I can agree I have found his stuff to be pricey. Not necessarily out of line if, for example, you're after an OEM dash pad. I think I was quoted north of $500 CDN.
Items in his showroom, say 40 bucks each for IROC-Z centre caps...yeah. That to me was unreasonable. This was about 10 years ago and I haven't been back since.
The article did mention him wishing to digitize his inventory which to me indicates that he acknowledged a failure in that regard. So your comment there is well taken.
I could be wrong but I somehow doubt he'll get a buyer for the whole shebang. More likely a sale of the inventory and then the land will be developed. The city has all but reached what once used to be out in the sticks. Not anymore.
I'll be watching.

i just hope they don't crush everything. that's what happened when most of the junkyards around me closed. there used to be quite a few within a 30 minute drive and now there's like only 1-2 left.
