If anybody can help me, my Senior Project is on the Death and Rebirth of the American Muscle Car. Basically, I am covering how Gas prices, smog restrictions and foreign competition helped to create the demise of the muscle car and the turn around in the 80's/90's (L98, LT1, LS1 etc). If anybody can help me with websites that could get me going in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot

 

wow i remember my senior project i did the history of the iroc-z camaro. i got a 98% on my paper. for the physical part of the project i fix a crack in my bumper cover and repainted it. i even got the help from a local body shop with all the materials free

 

2 things killed the musclecar. First and foremost was the insurance industry. Second was the 1974 gas crunch. Search for those two things. I think Ralph Nader maintains a website, and he may have information there. Emissions concerns were really a sideline, and didn't so much lead to the demise of the musclecar, as it hindered the rebirth of the musclecars in the '80s. Hope this gives you a little help.
