Classic Tags Question

Im not sure on when you can get them, but from my understanding, you can eather get them after a car is so old or after production is stoped on a model.

When production is stoped on the F-Body, that means any Camaro/Firebird from any year can apply for classic tags right?

It depends on what state you live in. You should check with your local department of motor vehicles.

Here in Oregon it is 25 years unless you get your car certified as a special interest vehicle by an authorized person. I got my blue car certified, and it is now permanately registered as a special interest vehicle. Upside here in my state: emissions equipment exempt, emissions output exempt, noise requirement exempt, insurance exempt. Downside: only allowed to drive it for special purposes, ie. club activities, shows, parades. Not much of a downside to me.

It had those tags on it then. Going to a show is within the legal bounds, not that I'd worry about it anyway. If I wasn't within bounds and got a ticket, I could always fabricate something that showed I was headed to a club function or meeting or show, and get out of it...

If I go that far again, I'd probably trailer it though. Had to repaint the nose afterwards (they sanded the freeway near Shasta, and the bumper got pelted). I'd love to come back down for another show!
