Re: Delco Radios

Would anyone be interested in a trade? I'm looking for a 1990-92 Camaro cassette deck with the yellow print. Would love to have an AUX jack in the rear (front AUX is a deal breaker since it looks totally incorrect IMO), but as long as the cassette deck works, I can just use a cassette adapter.

Here's the styles that I have to trade:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-Delco-AM-...VYUzeh&vxp=mtr

Radio #1: 1988-92 Firebird top-of-the-line cassette with equalizer and analog *****/buttons (not correct for digidash cars). Mine is rough, has a half inch dent in the faceplate, right channel does not work, I'm sure the cassette deck doesn't work as none of the originals do at this point, and the "auto reverse" print is now blurred from when I very stupidly tried to clean it with 409. Radio works, but only plays out the left channel. Could be nice if refurbed though.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM5EQ-RADIO-...p2047675.l2557

Radio #2: Early-mid 90s Buick Roadmaster CD. This is the motherlode, the one that people market as "Grand National" CD players on eBay, and sell for $400+. Identical to factory '92 Trans Am CD other than mounting brackets and color of the print/buttons/faceplate. Mine's in decent shape, CD drive doesn't work as all of the early ones like this broke years ago, but all 4 channels and radio work, and it's in pretty nice cosmetic shape as well. Should sell for $400+ if CD drive is replaced and AUX added.

Can post pix if anyone's interested.

Did digidash cars have a different style radio? I thought all UX1 or UM6 radios were the same in all cars.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that digidash cars have buttons instead of ***** for volume/tuning.

It all depends on Rpo code. Just because it has a digital dash doesnt mean that it will have a predetermined head unit. But if it does have the "gain" switch. There is a good chance it had a Eq unit or maybe even a UT4.

Re: Delco Radios

Wow what a great idea for those that want to keep the car original but have the ability to play music from their phone.

I just installed somewhat of an old school Kenwood in my GTA because it has a very similar color orange back lighting as the dash and an AUX input on the front. It has a CD player which I will never use.

Re: Delco Radios

I sent 84TA a message a few months ago about fixing my CD player. I have never heard back from him. Its a yellow lettered '92 Camaro CD radio in excellent looking condition. It wont accept the CD but the radio works. I am selling the car with an aftermarket radio and I want to sell the CD radio if anybody on here is interested.

Re: Delco Radios

I know you and at least one other member had issues.
And I see he's been back on here recently, not posting, but online.
I don't know him from Adam but if he's changed his ways and willing to make amends with everyone here, yeah...I'd like to get a radio looked at. Plus if he's still in Downingtown, that's not far from me. I would not be shipping.

Re: Delco Radios

Send your radio to 'Corvette Radio & TV Repair' in Louisiana: good prices, great work, fast turnaround. There are several people on this forum that will gladly sell you a Delco radio - best to consider them all cores that will require repair by pros.
