Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon...looking for a new or used Hurst Dual Gate 2 shifter with overdrive. Any leads appreciated, whole or parts. Please PM with what you have!

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

Even though you used to get 'em for $250, now that Hurst discontinued them they're up around 500 for new-in-box. So, depends what you have. Please send contact info via Private Message so we can discuss and email pics.
Thank you!

I have one that I think was mounted but was never used. It has a brand new 3rd gen plate also that I had to take out of the box.

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

Around 400, but others were asking 500. I spent days searching online, none are available through outlets/stores, even those that claim to have them even though they are discontinued. Every lead I got was through here (props to the forum) from private sellers. My advice? Put out a parts wanted ad, be patient and prepare to drop some Franklins.

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

Just a couple of reminders, If you buy one of these you must get the hurst cable, transmission arm (on the tranny) and the bracket that holds the cable from underneath the tranny pan. All these parts can be bought from hurst if it did not come with used shifter. Only the first style can use stock transmission cable and bracket, The arm is $20, The Bracket is $14.27 and the cable is between $40-$60. You must call them cannot buy online. Also google the instructions and summit has the link and you can download it and print. I gotta go back to the bone yard to get that other stuff off the car. Didnt think I needed it.

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

well im on the hunt.

whats so good about them? myself personally.. i just like the style. the other cars that i own or have owened have alot of aftermarket support. anything from interior to engine.. just about anything you can thing of you can get. it looks clean like it belongs there.. has a beefy in charge look to it. on one side it is like your stock automatic shifter but slides to another side like a tiptronic shifter and can be used as a "bump style shifter". just a cool piece. i have an addiction for rare hard to find items. seems like all the cool **** is hard to find. i kind of enjoy the hunt. i can honestly say i wish this item would fall in my lap cause it seems like im gonna be waiting for a while and by then im sure all that will be left is a bunch of abused scuffed up ones. google it and check out some pics.

anyone out there... once again... pm me if you have one for a decent price.

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

i think i have the first but to be sure ne one know how to verify the thing is i don't see how changing the location style of the bracket or cable would make it push the cable farther in for park or pull it farther back for first i hope i am just missing some parts cable arm bracket but i hate to put another 100$ into a bum shifter neone who could help me verify which one i have would be a great help i'll try get sme pics thanks for the info bigkahona

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

tomclayborn The hurst cable is adjustable down where the shifter arm is. You can adjust it in and out. When u down load the instruction booklet it will show you what you have to do to get the shifter to work in all gears correctly. That is why you have to buy the bracket, cable, and arm from hurst. Once you do this the shifter will work correctly. The person who sold u this should have gave it to you because it was provided with the shifter when new.

Re: Hurst Dual Gate Shifter

Damn didn't even know they were discontinued. Bought one about three years ago from Year One and have never installed it. Still in the box, never taken it out. It cost me about 279 with shipping and everything. Finally put new interior seats from 2002 trans am I bought from ebay around 4 years ago in excellent condition, maybe now I'll have the dual gate installed.

Just want to make sure. Its a dual gate with overdrive? If so, I'll take it. My email is willwild442@yahoo.com. Sorry it took me so long. I am deployed in Iraq.
