I found that the nut can loosen significantly without the retaining clip which fits above the nut (over the threaded proportion of the rod).

checked my spare column , nothing . checked my I.P.B. CD , till 86 1/2-20 nut , 88-92 M14x1.5 . regular nuts , should be able to get them local , even in lucedale .
