Last night someone tried to steal my 92 B4C Camaro from my driveway. I need some column ignition parts. I am not sure what all I need, anyone with some parts avail let me know. I dont think I need to replace the whole column, the ignition tumbler is still there, my key goes in but does nothing when I turn it. The left side of the column casing is smashed out internal parts damaged. I will need both covers and some internal parts. Dealer say nothing available new, all salvage and u pick yards just laugh when i call them asking for 3rd gen Camaro parts. Will any other model GM fit.

Anyone help me out ?? It is 92 with tilt, no cruise, airbag of course..

Looks like there is an after market kit with all the parts and shell, the garage is installing it, but the ignition tumbler is different than that with the kit, I need just the tumbler with the PASS system wire attached, Only cars with the chip in the key will work, I guess all the GM from that era are the same, dealer wants 200.00 for one, plus wait 7-10 days for it ?? If anyone has a spare sitting around, I dont need the key, my key and pins can be installed in the replacement ignition cyclinder, but as I stated it must have the wore attached to the cylinder. The garage got the aftermarket replacemtn ignition and guts I ned, but the plastice shell/housing in the kit was for a ignition without the pass key, so the plastice housing has too small opening for my ignition tumbler and no place for the pass key wire to pass through the housing. I was able to locate a housing locally. So I am good to go. The mechanic says if I did not have the pass key system, my car ould have been gone.
