ISO front seats

I have an 88 Camaro and am in search of front seats that are in good shape and will sit upright. My current seats are so worn I am stuck leaning back. Color doesn't matter because I have awesome seat covers.

Re: ISO front seats

You can replace the side seat mechanism too. That's what is worn out

Re: ISO front seats

$15 each + shipping.

P.S. The thirdgen seats are famous for the backrest sitting a little bit "far". Just be sure to look to see if there is actually a problem with your hinge before paying for a replacement.

Re: ISO front seats

That's a good point lol It needs to sit back a bit unless you're like 5 feet tall. I just assumed it was messed up because you no longer need to use the handle to fold the seat

Re: ISO front seats

Most newer cars have seats where the backrest will almost sit you less than 90 degrees,.... Thirdgen buckets ALWAYS seem to have a backrest that goes to far back. In the past I've placed body clips in the recliner mechanisms' "slot" so that the seat will not sit back so far. I used a clip because a nut/bolt seemed to interfere with the mechanisms "action". Worked for me and worked for quite awhile in my step dads Firebird, but it did break in his ride after a few years. ( He's a BIG dude - needs to be something stronger than a clip for his seat ! )

Not sure; but it seems to me like the 4th gen seats mechanisms might sit the vertical backrest "higher" then original Thirdgen seat mechanisms. If I ever get around to testing that theory - I'll post about it in the Interior section !

Good luck !
