info on black plastic console top repair
ok the plastic repair thread is totally useless to me with this info i need and i even replied in there about this and i guessi am invisible or something
anyways i need ot knwo what type of plastic out consoles are made from and what do you but to bond this stuff together
what kind of epoxy or adhesive
i have a corner where two parts of the console meet together at a 90 degree angle, they totally separated, at the bototm part of where the radio cut out is, in the top console shell
of the 82 83 84 bird style for my 82 t/a
it is all that is wrong with my console upper
i need to rebond this back together on it,
instructions and tips would be greatly appreciated
its probably a really basic simple repair but i have no idea because i dont know a damn thing about plastics
thanks

consoles are an abs plastic a relatively quick setting epoxy will work great. My dash had a crack and i fixed it using the epoxy. Just hold them together(or have someone else hold it for you) and apply the epoxy to the back of the crack so that it wont be seen, if your quick enough you can put it in the crack just be sure to clean the extra off if it squeezes off the front. Nothing to it man

Sorry I missed your post in the Plastic repair thread. Really It is the same repair and method...just different materials. Look in the same line of repair materials, and use their "Rigid Repair". Prep it the same, repair on the inside, and outside, sand the outside, prime, and refinish.
