Replacing interior dash

First off, I'd just liek to say that I'm new, so bare with me here xD.

Well, atm I'm about to get an '86 t/a and do not really like the design of the dash. Just today I've been looking over the forums quite a bit, adn see that many of you have done, or at least seen, 4th gen dashes swapped out for 3rd gen dashes. I was wondering which year exactly would probably mathc an '86 best? I just can't stand all the gauges being in one complete straight row, and the dahs just looking like a big box. If at all possible, I'd like it to look something like this: Dayton F-body Association :: View topic - New Project....

On that note, is it possible to switch the 4th gen console and door panel with my 3rd gen? I've been looking through the forums, eyt cant' find too much on those two. Thanks so much for all the help!

The pieces all work according to others here that have done the swap. I thought there was a sticky on this topic but do not see it now. The info is here but it may take the right search to bring it to the surface. I am having enough trouble getting going on my lt1/t56 swap to even ponder beyond the 4th gen seats stored for later. Good luck as it does look nice when done properly.

hah, thanks for the info. I'll continue looking around the forums a bit more. While I look, if anyone can tell me about how far I can go w/ an '86 t/a, as far as the year goes, I'd appreciate the info. Well, at least which dash looks "nicest" considering it seems kind of hard to find any pictures of certain year dashes, or post any pics. I've seen a few, but just like a '93 and a '91. Thanks again everyone.

haha wow. It looks nice! I cant wait to get started on it really. As much work that goes into it, I can't wait. But cna someone help me out here. I know I can bu ythem off of ebay, however, it never seems liek you cna buy a compelte set of the dash parts from them, rather only the complete trim kit. Can someone tell me what all pieces I need, and how many? thanks! I'm plannign on doing the center console and the doors as well to the 4th gen t/a.
