Hey guys,

I have a 1986 Trans am and I am replacing the dash with the guages and everything out of a 1988 iroc. I've been trying to figure out the wiring, but every schematic that I look at is not only different, but wrong. My biggest problem is wiring the headlights and dimmer. As of now, you can turn the lights on and the headlights will go up, but when you turn the lights off, the lights stay up. Second, the parking lights only go on when the headlight switch is pulled all the way out, not at the first stop. Third, since the dimmer on my trans am was a separate switch, where do I wire it in to the camaro switch? I need help bad just cause I don't know what any of the wires are. Any help on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

send a PM to Trickster. He has probably all of the service manuals for 82-92 with all of the wiring schematics in them. He might not tell you how to fix your problem but should give you the schematics needed to figure it out.

 

Thanks, that will help get me going in the right direction. If anyone still has advice, I can definitely use it.
