Upper door panel issues....

I was curious what holds on the big black plastic piece that goes along the top of the door panel and sits up against the window. The piece is warped and the ends are starting to slightly curve upwards. You can push down on it and it will move about 1/2 and inch or so. I was just wondering what held these in place and if they are replaceable alone or if I will have to get all new door panels? The rest of the door panel is in excellent shape so if I can avoid replacing the whole panel, that's what I'd like to do.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions with this issue.

there are clips on the back of that piece. If you can push it in that much, those clips are probably broken because someone else in the past had to take off the door panel. I wouldn't replace them unless that piece has a bunch of visible cracks. On one of my cars, its just like yours and it makes it really easy to take off the door panel, which is kind of nice when replacing a window motor or door lock solenoid.

In the following link, you can see where two of the clips (four of them in all, IIRC) attach, one near the glass and near the middle of the pic, the other at the front of the door.

The clips are molded to the black plastic piece, IIRC. There are other reasons for rattles. Perhaps this link will assist if you haven't seen it:
