Door panel nut idea

Is it just me or are those door panel / top rail nuts a pain to remove without breaking the studs or scarring up the backs of the panels at times? I got an idea. Has anyone ever took a very fine drill and made 2 holes across from each other on the nuts flat rim with a very fine drill bit? You could then put a couple straightened out paper clips in each hole to use to unscrew the nuts.
May make life easier next time you remove the door panels from the top rails. Just a thought because I have not seen a tool to do so.

very ingenuitive. not trying to hijack here but do you know how to fix the window sills so theyre not warped? as long as youre making it easy to take off, i thought this would be a pertinant question.

Just make sure they are snapped in where they belong and do your best to straighten out the sweep trim as best you can. If you want , you could take off the sweeps and replace, or fix, but ya may need to drill new holes and screw or bolt them back on with some black ones so you can't see them. Hope this helps!

good idea. ive been looking for some thin angle aluminum. i figure if i could brace it from underneath then it would be a lot easier to keep straight...
