Who here has purchased/installed new carpet?

Did I get ripped off? I would expect an interior 1 piece carpet set to be one piece, molded, and pretty darn close to stock. Is that how everyone here got thier replacement? ...Fast forward to what I got. I got 1 piece for the front which is actually 3 pieces sewn together, and one piece for the back, again 3 pieces sewn together. Compared to stock, the carpet material seems cheap and doesn't have the rubberized molded backing. Additionally the jute is much much thinner. When I pick up the stock piece, it basically is really heavy and keeps its shape. The replacement is flimsy, light, and has not a lot to it. Is this how all replacement pieces are? I'd rather go get the stock steamed even how worn and faded it is. The replacement just seems like crap. Any thoughts or did I just get a bad vendor???

Some people like lighter carpet. Less weight equals more acceleration. I dont know too much about pre-molded carpet but who was the vender?

Cool, I was looking at that set... looks like a decent deal.

fbodfreek, it sounds like you might have bought some racing carpet or a cheap knock off. I've seen some pretty nice aftermarket carpet out there, so it definitely exists.
