has anyone tried these seats

i am wondering if anyone has these. I am looking for a nice set of racing seats. something that i can sit in for a wile. I don't want something to make my legs fall asleep. something comfortable but still hold you nice and tight in the seat.

i found these.

I agree, are you sure they aren't inflateable? I've learned through experiance that on ebay, you get what you pay for...

Well, that really mainly depends on you and $$. Of course you can always go with some high dollar Sparco's for comfort and racing, but I'm guessing you're looking for a bargain. I currently have Dodge Conquest racing seats in my Trans Am. They have adjustable lumbar, bolters, and height. They work extremely well and go with my black interrior. I got them in the boneyard. What I would suggest is probably going with some 4th Gen Camaro or Trans Am seats. Which I had before I got the Conquest seats. Here is an older pic of one of the conquest seats and one of the Camaro 4th Gen seats (as I was switching them)...

New foam for seats

Who sells the foam for the third gen seats? I want to replace the foam but can not find a company that sells it.

also anyone know of a reliable seat cover company that provides "real" leather? I found a couple of "vinyl/leather LOOK" type seat cover but I want the real thing like what really came in our cars originally.

hcr I like both of those seats. the black ones look comfortable. they look like they hold you in nice and tight too.

nightrider. the only company that i know of is classic industries. but i don't know if they sell the foam for a thirdgen. I know that they have universal and some special fit ones.

I agree with you get what you pay for. If your on a budget, try for forth gen seats. Both Recaro and Corbeau make a good seat. I used to have Corbeau's GTS II. VERY comfortable and supportive.

Well, they are actually equally as comfortable but the black ones do hold me in place much much better than the Camaro seats. I have a pair of racing seatbelts on the way, so hopefully it will be better once I get those...

By that, do you mean run-of-the-mill, OEM Dodge speats? Just trying to clarify. If so, what kind of mods were needed? Just swapping the seat racks, or what? They remind me of the early 3rd gen Recaro TA seats.

I'll take one peperoni and one cheese pizza please! Do you have hot peppers??

J/K.
I really like those seats. I would kill for a nice set of early, black leather PMD seats/or recaro. This reminds me of them, plus the racing seat look.

I purchased some black thick leater racing seats off ebay. Suprised by the qaulity of the leather, very thick, and comfort of seats. Paid 250 which included shipping. They hold you TIGHT in seat, wouldnt recommend for anyone over 38 waist. They also sit high, but I used the track from stock seats. Was perfect for me.

our cars came with vinyl that looked like leather in most cases which is probably why most places just sell the vinyl. you might try mr mikes leather

I'm not sure how "run of the mill" they were, but I do know this car had turbo and seemed to be more sporty/exotic-ish than a Miata. These seats have adjustable side bolster, adjustable lumbar, adjustable head rests and the typical forward/backward adjusts. As far as mounting, I just took the tracks from the black seats off, and put the ones from the tan seats that came with the Trans Am. As far as bolt line-up, I was lucky that the 2-rear bolts were almost exactly the same spacing as the Trans Am tracks (maybe a couple of cm's). The two front bolts were an inch or two off, so I just got a long aluminum bar/plate, and bolted the plate to the seat (via the stock black seat bolts) and then I bolted the front two Trans Am track bolts to the aluminum plate. Worked out perfect. I'm still waiting in the mail for a pair of racing seatsbelts. It was much easier to mount the seats than I thought it would...and they look badass. They also perform well. I loosen up the bolters when I'm just "cruisin" or everyday commute. When in the track, tighten them up (sorta like a giant vice-clamp) to keep me nice and snug...
Here's how they look from outside...

Sorry. By "run-of-the-mill" I meant more of a stock, OEM, seat, vs. an aftermarket set.

Pretty cool looking! By adding the aluminum plate, do you mean you basically used 2 bars, and extended the lengths of the track? Or mounted a single cross bar, that also reached between the stock tracks and seat bolts themselves? Make sense? I like!

hmm... i'm thinking the Dodge/Chrysler Conquest was a twin to the Mitsubishi Startion. My uncle had a starion ('87 4 cyl turbo) and those seats look to be the same as what it had. They were very nice, i was a kid/teenager when he had it and thought it was the coolest car. There aren't many of those cars around to find seats out of, but they do look sweet in a 3rd gen. I'll be keeping my eyes open for them

Yeah, the Dodge Conquest is a twin of the Mitsubishi Starrion. The car I go it from had no markings on (beside the word "turbo"), so I wasn't sure what kind of car it was. The junkyard guy checked the VIN and he said it was the Conquest...Ironically I was actually looking for black back seats (as you may notice, my rear seats are still tan) but then I peered into the window if this puppy and saw these seats, it was a steal for both at $40...
Here is a really rough sketch of what the mounting system looks like...

Cool. That pic is what I envisioned you made! I'll keep those in mind. I have 4th gen front seats right now, and they are quite comfortable, so I'd hafta sit in ones like yours (those) to decide. At $40 (each or pair?) that's not bad!

As far as comfort, the 4th Gen seats and the black seats are about the same, but the 4th Gen seats can't be adjusted and tend to still feel a bit loose when going around a sharp corner...I don't like that "wiggle" room... that, and the interior didn't match (as the pics show)...It was $40 for the pair!

Summit Racing sales some really nice seats at affordable prices. Plus their shipping is really cheap. Two things that I see wrong with those seats, they don't recline, ruff on extended trips, two your rear passengers are gonna hate getting in and out!

They do recline. They came out of another 2-door coupe...As far as road trips, I haven't been on a "long" trip, but I did recently go to a F-body meet in Columbia, which is about an hour away. I didn't have any complaints neither did my passenger. But, besides daily driving, I haven't been on an excessively long trip...
