Re: power windows
Sure is, I added power locks, windows, and mirrors to my car. The easiest way to add them is to go to a junk yard and find a car with power windows in it, go to the marketplace here, or eBay and find a stock wiring harness (chances are it will not just have power windows in it because locks, mirrors, and windows all use the same harness if the car is equipped with all those options) and the window regulators.
This web site, which was an enormous help to me, will show you which window tracks you need to take out to get the regulator out and which holes to use when you put the power regulator back in: http://www.p71interceptor.com/thirdgen/powerwindows/. Roll the window down, take the two tracks out, get some good titanium drill bits and drill the rivets out (took me 10 seconds per rivet with good bits) and then slide the regulator out (it helps to have a friend for this step to hold the glass in the up position so you don't scratch it up when you pull the old regulator out and put the new one in), and then use rivets to put the power regulator in. For the rivets you need 1/4" rivets which I couldn't find anywhere but Harbor Freight, luckily I had a local store and I went and picked it up instead of having to get it shipped, I also just used the rivets that came with the gun not the peel rivets from GM.
For the wiring, if you get a stock harness, there should be a power accessory junction box under the driver side kick panel since you have an 86 and the harness will plug in there. I've been told by a few people that cars that didn't come with power accessories won't have that box but other people have told me they will. I have a 91 so the wiring is all different from your car and I had a plug hanging under the hush panel that the harness plugged into. If you don't have the box you'll just need to find a switched 12v from the fuse box for the power windows. The factory has it running on top of the firewall behind the dash, since I didn't want to take my dash out for this, I just pulled the center console and ran the wiring under the dash and if I ever happen to take the dash out I'm going to run it factory.
It took me a day to swap in everything for the locks and windows and I put the mirrors on a few days later because they had to be repainted. If you do go ahead and add everything, make sure you get a harness from a Camaro. The Pontiacs have the mirror switch in the center console and Camaros have it in the door, I found that out real quick and had to take apart most of the harness to shorten the wiring for the mirror switch. Except for the hole I screwed up drilling in the center console for the window switch, you'd never know my car didn't come with any of it.
Good luck!
