a NEW question about airbag removal....
I know there are thousands of posts in here about removal of the airbag but what I was wondering was if there was a way to remove the airbag without the light coming on at all. For example the same way VATS is bypassed by using a resistor matched to the value of the resistance in the pellet in your key. I was thinking about removing the airbag and measuring its resistance in ohms and putting a resistor in line tricking the computer in to thinking that the airbag is there and everything is ok. Any thoughts?

If you take the airbag out and want the light to go off, then just pull the cluster and yank the light bulb for it
If your going thru the trouble, remove the deployment trigger thingys spread around the car
Why have the extra stiff if your not using it

The airbag should have it's own computer (not sure where on the third gen off hand) usually under the Passenger seat. DO NOT use an ohmmeter on the terminals of the bag, an ohmmeter uses a known amount of current to calculate resistance. Using one on the bag itself could possible cause it to deploy. Probably not but possible, if you have ever seen one go off believe me it is not worth the chance no matter how small.
