shifter **** help.....please!!

I am trying to replace the shifter **** in my 1990 camaro iroc z.....for those who don't know, universal ***** that you can buy at any parts store ARE NOT UNIVERSAL! lol I need to know the exact diameter and pitch of a stock shifter rod. I'm thinking of having a custom made **** done and need these specs. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I replaced my standard automatic shifter **** with a carbon fiber 'T' shifter **** and it works fine... 2 years without a problem.

Adding the type of trans you have to your profile would be helpful. The OEM T-5 and T-56 **** is 16mm x 1.50 thread. By the way, I bought a B&M Hammer T-shifter which doesn't require adapters. Recommended.
