I want to add steering wheel controls to my 91 TA. I want a steering wheel from a 93-94 TA with the radio controls. I have a cd player that will work with these controls. I have read a few topics about the wheel bolting up, but nothing about the airbag or radio controls. I have an entire column and radio harness from a 94 Bonneville, it's the same year but the color is too light. I am looking for one from a Firebird. I have a few questions:
Does this airbag have the same connector as the 90-92?
Will this airbag fit a 90-92 wheel?
Is it feasible to run the wires through the third gen column?
The first pic os the wheel I want, the 2nd shows the cd player in my car now.

I have a similar cd player to yours. I plugged it into the factory harness with no hassles. But the steering wheel control plug was totally different. If you ran all the wires from a newer car it should work. Putting the wires down the steering colum should not be an issue at all. That first steering wheel I have never seen before in a 4thgen bird.

Hey Did you ever try putting the steering wheel controls in? I have a 91 GTA and Im also wondering if it will fit?
I have the parts but haven't attempted the install. I have a wheel from a 94 Bonneville that is the same one as the bird one above. The wheel is found in 93-94 Firebirds and 92-95 Bonnevilles. I also have a steering column from a 98 TA. I already have a 4th gen cd player.
I decided that it would be easier to use a column that is already wired for steering wheel controls rather than mess with the clockspring. There are four wires that come off the steering wheel controls. Two go to the radio and two are for illumination. The new column came with a key so I will bypass vats. The airbag connector may be different, I'm not sure.
