Cannot get door panels off...HELP!!!!

I cannot get my passenger side door panel off, i want to change the power window motor. The motor has broken so the window is stuck in the up position so it cannot be lowered. Any ideas how to get the panel off with the window up and/or somehow get the window down?

you should be able to get the door panel off no matter the position of the window. i think there are 5 screws holding the panel on once those are out there are clips around the door panel and they pop right out.

Yes...and then the problem of getting the black plastic trim off the top of the door panel. I tore the panel off one door trying to get that thing off, and just about broke the other plastic top panel completely in half trying to get it off the driver's door. Is there an easy way to remove that piece?

Just carefully move it from side to side or jiggle it around. It'll pop loose, and it lifts up. It's easier with the window down, but possible with it up.

Re: Cannot get door panels off...HELP!!!!

That plastic panel must come off with the entire inner door panel. First femove the door handle, then pop free the white christmas-tree clips with a putty knife or large flat-blade screwdriver. The secret is to getting the top of the black plastic trim piece free to lift the panel from the bottom while pushing it towards the rear of the car. It will come free of a ramp at the top that is securing the clips.

After much sweat and effort, My Dad plucked it off, without breaking anything surprisingly.
