I like it, man! It's very simple, but all a racecar needs is motor and seats...and maybe a roll cage.

so what do you guys think about this...i kinda got tired of not having somewhere to rest my elbow.
this is just a mockup and the car is really dirty still from being in the dusty pits of Silver Dollar Raceway:

Bend up a 90 degree piece of sheet to make a slider cover, or a small piece to finish the passenger side wall, so you can run a boot, and call it done!
Looking good! For the floor console ayways. A little more tweaking, and the radio pod turn gauge pod, can fit like it was meant to be there.

Re: two tone interior and center console delete
how 'bout an aluminum shifter plate. make something that goes in the place of the factor shifter plate...think the aluminum would look cheesy or do you think it'd look good, accenting the aluminum bezels on the guages...
i pull the bottom of the guage pod out towards the back of the car and shoved the front of the console under it and it looks like it was supposed to be there now. i just gotta figure a way to mount the console now, as it's shoved up forward of the mounting points on the tunnel.
anyone else?

if you sanded it so it looked like brushed aluminum, or maybe polished it. it's just so tricky to build stuff in the garage and not have it look like you built it in the garage. i guess that's why that steve strope guy is a bit of a hero for me

Re: two tone interior and center console delete
I generally don’t like 4th gen parts in 3rd gens, just because there are almost always some gaps that don’t quite line up… that looks better than some, I’m guessing that it’s an early 4th gen camaro consol rather than the more common firebird/late 4th gen camaro, but the front just isn’t right and I don’t see how you’re going to make it right without totally ditching the firebird radio pod and making something different that has more of a slope across the front. Do the materials/plastics sort of match or are they just one more texture added to the mess?
Re: two tone interior and center console delete
i don't go for the 4th gen interior swaps, because i think the parts just don't look right. 3rg gens are square and angular while 4th gens are fluid and round. i just don't think it looks right to mix the two.

Re: two tone interior and center console delete
wonder where you got the two tone idea from...? lol
looks good matt i like black and grey better than tan and black in my 86. that 4th gen console looks really good in there actually, if i had a 90-92 dash in mine i would have went to that console but with the older dashes doesnt look right at all imo.
