well, im trying to put my new wheel in my 92 bird, but it seems as though the cast piece that goes on the splined shaft will rub where the wires come out of the airbag clockspring. just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and where you unplugged/cut the wires for it. thanks

Re: Anyone have to remove the airbag clockspring to install their grant adapter?

not for a Grant, but when I put my 3 spoke bird wheel I had to remove the clockspring. Just be careful to remove the wire and spring for the horn without breaking the slotted hole for it, and I basically just pried the clockspring out as one piece. Hope this helps.

i ended up having to remove it because the wires coming out hit the adapter that slides over the splines
