Im wondering what the parts list would be to swap a camaro 145mph speedo in my 85 trans am. I want to have speedometer that goes higher than 85 mph, and i really like the look of the 145 mph camaro dash.....so i thought about putting the dash in my car. It seems a lot easier than doing a mechanical to electrical swap from a newer trans am...... So want is different? Thanks everyone in advance

Link no work.... i want to put a 85-89 IROC 145mph cluster/dash in a 85 TRANS AM....not a 4th gen swap

 

camaro dash, camaro dash pad, camaro underdash panels for driver and passenger side, all switches (rear defrost/cig lighter/headlight switch, ect.)from there you MIGHT be able to use the radio/climate control pod from the bird...but it will look much better if you get the entire center console. From there it's just wiring in the 145 which is covered if you do a search of this site.

HMMMM, I tried it before I posted it I just typed in "camaro dash in a firebird" and it brought up 96 pages, allot of good info from wiring to parts needed, to the actual install.

 

It would be easier (and look better in my opinion) to swap the face from a Firebird 140 MPH speedometer onto your 85 MPH speedometer and have it recalibrated to match.

 

Well after searching online for something like what your talking about i found if i swapped a 82-84 trans am cluster in, theres a kit with a face for 160mph! Not sure how it works but ill have to see
