Re: Third gen seats latch?

The seat backs only lock in position in sudden stops or crashes. I am still trying to figure out why GM installed a lever that dosent work . The lever on 4th gen seats works.

Re: Third gen seats latch?

The seat back will also latch if you park on a steep incline, in which case the lever becomes useful.

Re: Third gen seats latch?

I always thought they were supposed to latch, but most didn't anymore. On one of mine, I have to use the **** every time, no matter what. It's very annoying because I'm used to all of my others that you just move the seatback.

Re: Third gen seats latch?

thanks for all the help i was kinda worried but that makes me feel a little better... i might go tommorrow and pick up a set of seats from a 1991 rs and i wanted to make sure. If not there are 2 forth gens, a firebird and a camaro that are there so i might consider the seats in them. Btw its at a junk yard. but id perfer the 3rd gen classic style. -Matt
