Quick and simple question...

I just removed all the interior carpet, and there are those black tar-like squares for holding the rug and mat in place. Do I really need those? And if not, would they come up with a little heat and a lot of work with a scraper?

I'm planning on putting in the peel and stick matting from Home Depot - you know, cheap Rammat - which is why I am asking. I mean, if that stuff already has the stickiness on it, why do I need the "tar squares"?

Re: Quick and simple question...

if you dont need them, take them off. Scraper should work fine.
