Carpet not conforming?

As you can see, the new carpet I installed(a couple months ago, actually) won't fit to the car perfectly.
I'm not sure what to do about it, either.
Was there something else I was supposed to cut?
By the way..please forgive all of the insulation scattered around it. I've been too busy with other things to spend much time on the interior.
Any suggestions?
I'd like it so that I could still pull the carpet up easily later on.
Velcro?

Re: Carpet not conforming?
doesn't look like it was spread open enough to the sides.....i'd leave the carpet out in the sun for it to get warm then it's easier to handle.
