rivets in my headliner

hey guys whats up.. summers almost here, and im just finishing up the bird, but one of the last things i need to do, is get the headliner switched out, i found a place that i can pick up and abs headliner(t-top) in the city but the thing is im not sure how to take off the original headliner, its not like the other posts say cuz in my dome light there are two rivits, so i cant just pop out the dome light and remove it like that, and the rivits were somehow put in from on top so i cant drill them out cuz there in the wrong postion, can anyone help me out?

Re: rivets in my headliner

Is a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel or a pair of side cutters a possiblity? Once you cut the shell and pin the rivet should come free above.

Re: rivets in my headliner

hello
nope they are not rivets!!!

in the dome light there are like 2 rivets but they are not!! they are like 2 nails out of the body to align the headliner in the center and they are like smallwashers with a star shape inside to keep the headliner and dome light in place!!

to remove you dont need any dremels but you only need a broken small screwdriver with the end of if it in a 90 degree angle so you can pull down those called like washers with starshape inside!!

good luck and i am sure because i took of mine 2 day!!

cya
