Real Dumb Question!!

Got kind of a dumb question. I have the motor and everything stripped out of my car and I can't get the rear hatch to open without any power in the car! How do I open the rear motorized hatch without any power in the car?

Re: Real Dumb Question!!

The key should work. Did you shave the back key off or something?

flip the license plate down.. there is a lock under it.. your key should work.

Re: Real Dumb Question!!

You can get it to open from inside the car also. I think you remove the rear cargo light by the hatch(not the roof dome light), you can get a flathead screwdriver in there and manually open the hatch. Or if you're interior plastics are gone, you can get to it.

Re: Real Dumb Question!!

My 91 had the key under the liscence plate put I looked there and this car doesn't seem to have it. Not sure if it was shaved off or what the story is. Just bought the car a month ago and have been ripping it apart to do a complete restoration on it and I came across this problem. Thanks for all your help as always! i'll have to try a little harder to get it open when I get home from work.
