Light **** loose, can't take off dash trim

Hey guys,

I've got a 91 RS, and just the other night when I went to put in my light **** to turn off the lights, it sunk in. The assembly behind the dash broke off and now I have to jam a screw driver in to hold the light "switch" assembly in place when I push in the ****.

I tried removing the foremost dash trim that encompasses the clear plastic over the gauges, and splits around the steering wheel. It comes loose on all sides except right in the center on each side of the steering wheel.

Will I need to take off the lower panel (above where you legs go/under the steering wheel) to get to some type of clip or something?

Pictures would be nice, if available. I can't even seem to find a picture of the dash trim I'm talking about online ANYWHERE, not even on replacement part sites. Nothing on loose dash light ***** either.

try removing upper dash pad for access . i had the same problem , found clearences tight around switch . very tight , wedged a small piece of wood behind switch to hold it in place as a temp. fix . that was more than 3 yrs. ago .

There are 2 screws that you have to remove the lower pad to get to. But as UNCLE TOM suggested, you may be better off going down through the top, via the dash pad. The switch is quite a way back in there, and will be hard to get to through the front. I just went out and took some pics of my parts car for you, but really, there's no need to upload them to answer your question about the lower pad removal. If you need more though, I take some of whatever you need.

Thanks guys, I'll try and get in through the upper dash.

And thanks for the offer with the pics titan, if I can't figure it out I'll ask for some pics on things.
