Weatherstrip Question

Im thinking about replacing my T-bar and was noticing that my old weatherstripping looks fine..in order to remove the t-bar I do have to remove the weatherstrip..right?..if so is it possible to put the old weatherstrip back on?
Thanks guys

O and..has anyone tried to put in Corvette seats to replace the fronts?..I have a pair available to me through a family member and wondering if anyone has done this before

Re: Weatherstrip Question

You could try to put the old weatherstripping back on provided you can get it off without tearing it.Thats the reason I havent done mine.I have at least 4 nice t top center bars that pretty clean but the thought of shelling out all that money on new weatherstrips really doesnt appeal to me right now

Re: Weatherstrip Question

You will not be able to get the weatherstripping off without ripping it. The adhesive used by GM was decent and is about 20 years old now and hardened good. Consider replacing the weatherstripping if you take off the bar. It's probably your only option

Re: Weatherstrip Question

darn it..I guess I'll be leaving the t-bar alone for now
thankx for the heads up though...it wouldn't have been a good feeling having to replace a nice set of t-top weatherstrips
