Re: seat track extenders?

I've gotta ask...How tall are you?

I'm 6'5" with a 38" inseam (I'm all legs) & never thought about moving my seats back any farther than they can stock.

6ft 2 with 36 in inseam. Maybe my seats don't go back as far as yours?

Re: seat track extenders?

I have 4th gen seats, but don't recall the stock 3rd gen seats sitting closer. They sat higher, no doubt there.

But, what about drilling 4 new holes in the floor, & mounting your seats there? Maybe get some steel straps bolted to the stock bolts, then the seats to & through them, to the stock floor?

I did that to my old '65 VW Bug!

Re: seat track extenders?

I agree with Stephen, just make some sort of metal straps, maybe an extra 3-4 inches, and bolt the straps to the original bolts and bolt it also the floorpan to avoid swiveling and then bold the seats to the straps... good luck!

Re: seat track extenders?

I have had a 84 Z28 and now a 91 Trans am conv. Both cars I made my own seat extenders. About an inch and a half wide and 3and a half inches long and about 3/16inch thick. Put a hole at the front and a hole at the back of this strap. Attach the seat to one end and mount it to the floor. Do the same at the rear of the seat. You may need to put a small spacer at the rear of the seat. Not clear is it? If you cannot understand, let me know. I will attempt some pics in the next few days. Hope it helps. I am tall and it really helps.

Re: seat track extenders?

I always wish I had just one more click of travel... and I'm only 6'2.

But it's still comfortable enough that im not all that concerned about it.
