This is what I get for thinking...anyway, my friend is at home on vacation and a local junkyard has one of the 80s corvettes, and it still has the dash and digital cluster. me, i personally have a "fetish" for digital dashes, I think they are the neatest things. I did a search and didn't find much info, but has anyone everm anaged to get that cluster to fit and work in a Camaro? I'm not concerned so much with the extra oil temp and fuel economy stuff, just your basic tach, speedo, oil psi, coolant temp, and voltage. along with the turn signals and high beams.

if anyone out there has by some miracle done this and can share some knowledge with me or show me some pics, i'd appreciate it. thanks!

On my C4 you need the switches. One toggles the oil pressure and oil temp. The other one does the Volts and Coolent temp.

I love the "atari dashes"...or so there called Im sure its possible, but would require a ton of work. it would be much easier to just install a 3rd gen digital dash which itself is a pain Ive heard

yeah, me and a friend did the digital GTA cluster swap into my 87 GTA, it actually wasn't too bad, the lights don't work right in it so i hafta look at it but everything else does minus the systems monitor (i didn't wire it up now do i plan to). It'd just a thought I had; if my buddy can manage to get it for like $25 or something i'll take it, and if i can't use it i'm sure a vette owner could.

If there is any chance to check the functionality of the dash while it's still in the Corvette, I would definitely do it. While I've never had any problem with the one in my 89, these often go bad and they are pretty expensive to have fixed. I go back and forth on whether I like it in my Corvette. It's definitely different and was a big deal in its day.

Re: Corvette digital cluster in a Camaro
Digital dashes are overrated. I should know, I have one. I would have already swapped to the analog gauges if it was a bolt-in deal, but I don't feel like rewiring the whole dash. The vette one might be slightly better since it actually shows a numeric value for each instrument, but the GTA ones aren't so great. For example, the tach is just a stack of bars in roughly 200RPM increments. I can't tell if I'm idling at 400 or 600 RPM by the tach. The oil, temp, and volt gauges are the same story, you have to kind of just guess the actual value. Also, they're kind of hard to see in bright sunlight.
