top of door panel
top of door panel
I tried searching but... no luck
Unfortunately I do not have a manual yet for the car. I am trying to figure out how to pull the black plastic piece off at the top of the door. I need to put my mirrors back on and some other trim stuff. How do they attach, I tried getting a few off at the junkyard, but that didnt go so well lol. I am assuming now that that is because the windows were up. I tried looking on the car I am turning into a bracket car, but that didnt help much either.

Re: top of door panel
Held on by various tabs behind the door panel, roll down the window, pull slightly toward outter side of door and they pull up and off (least mine did)
you can peek down in there and see the tabs if need be, maybe poke em in with a flathead.

Pop out all the plastic tabs on the bottom and side parts of the door panel first then do waht BlueSS mentioned. Once your good at it you can gently hit it in and pull it up it takes like 3 seconds.

open door with window down . then push sill down , in and up . you should be able to feel them coming loose providing rest of door panel is loose . they are attached to door panel . some of the plastic welds/rivet type will be broken . hot glue gun is your friend , also good to repair small tears in panel cardboard , also to replace torn plastic sheating on door . has worked for me many times . good luck . Re: top of door panel
What are you guys talking about? The top of the door panel is held on with speed nuts. You need to remove the door panel, remove the 1/2 dozen or so speed nuts and remove the black panel. The door panel has holes in it that the speed nut studs feed thru.
Pop all the white platic clips that hold the door panel on and remove the door handle hardware. Pull the door panel away from the door at the bottom. Push down on the top to release the clips holding the black piece to the door itself. You may need to wiggle it some. This should allow the whole door panel to come off. Once off, you can access the mirror mounting area.
I would think that just pulling it up will break the studs or rip the door panel.
