Seats reek.

I bought my 4th gen seats from a wrecked 96 z28 and the passenger windows had been busted for 2 monthes, I installed them saturday, yesterday it looked like it was going to rain so I left my windows up all day while I was at work, when I left I opened my door and thought I was going to die. Not sure what to do about it, I used the attachments on my carpet shampooer to clean the seats before I put them in, but I guess that passenger seat has some mold in it somewhere. Any suggestions would be great.

Re: Seats reek.

take three gallons of water and 1 quart of bleach, mix it in a big bucket like Home depot sells. Put it in your car, close the windows leave it there overnight, or best results 24hrs. The smell will be completely gone.

My brother had spilled chicken Marsala(buffet size pan) all over his IROC, smelled HORRIBLE.

Did this smells fresh now.

Re: Seats reek.

My car is on its 4th heater core in 2 years. had a real mechanic do ti this time. He said the old one was defective and probably the others were as well.

Although you can fix that yourself, I recommend paying the $300 for a mechanic, because mine tested the heater core before installation, and it is guaranteed.

The antifreeze ruined my carpet, and even soaked into the thick jute padding on the firewall, I fabreezed the jute padding and scrubbe...the car is finnally smelling good. Tha antifreeze is terrible stuff.

Re: Seats reek.

ive just got mine bypassed right now, pulled the hose that runs from the throttle chamber to the heater core off and hooked it up on the return line on the radiator, but its starting to get cold here, i probably will pay someone to do it, deer season opens saturday and i wont have time to work on it.
