Re: Looking For LED

Visit your local electronics/circuitry store. That's where I get all my circuit stuff for school and LED's are dirt cheap.

Re: Looking For LED

Before RadioShack closed in Canada, I would have said they were about as much an electronics store as Walmart is a automotive accessory dealer. But, thats just my disgust with Radioshack.

A look in the yellowpages should reveal an industrial electrical wholesaler in your area. I know the staff at the local one on a first-name basis. Last LED's I picked up were for a quick repair on the maplight in my 9C1....a dozen 3mm high-output red LED's, 2.1V 25mA, totaled about $1.50, taxes in.

Now, 12V LED's are, by nature, more expensive..why can't you use either several LED's to get a combine total of ~13.4volts, or bunk a resistor in-line with the LED to knock down the voltage?

Re: Looking For LED

Rather just have a clean solder, just put it in and solder it rather than putting in resistors to dum down the voltage. They are straight 12v so no worries there. I just found a website. $.10 a led and its like a flood led so mcd but it has a huge range! i just bought 50 but shipping was $8.35 but to me it was a steal almost.

Check out the " WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb" it's five superbrite LEDs in a direct replacement package for the stock gauge bulbs, I know the price is high but you won't be disapointed with the results.
I have them in my IROC and they are great.

I'll take it into consideration. Would you post a picture or two of it in your car so i can have a better understanding of how well they are?
