Seat Slip?

Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23 LS
Seat Slip?
I adjust my passanger seat in my 1989 camaro rs and when you get about a 35 degree back the gear slips and you fling back; if to much weight is applied it'll do the same. My friend is 6'4 i think and he weighs a bit over 200lbs but the gear slips for him to lean back just a slight bit. Wondering how to fix this with out paying a nice shiny penny from my pocket.
