Could i take the steering colum,n out of my 92 camaro and replace it with one from an 80's?

the reason i ask is because i bought the transformers horn buton and the Grant steering wheel before looking into everything and they don't make an instalation kit for a 92 because of the air bag for the steering wheel. so anything information would be nice.
