Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how much room is lost with a rollbar/cage. I am a rather large individual(6ft, 280lbs). I plan on getting a swing out kit for the rollbar, but what about racing seats and 5 point harnesses? Do they make racing style seats big enough to fit me? Are 5 point harnesses adjustable in any way? I lift weights, and my chest measures about 50 inches around. Will that pose any issues? Thanks for your time.

 

Most of the room lost with a traditional cage is in the door area. If you get a single bar or a swing out, it wont be much of a problem.

You can find large racing seats which should fit you well. Sparco and Corbeau both make nice ones. I suggest getting the reclining ones, as they have more room. I personally prefer Corbeau's seats but they are more expensive.

5 point harnesses can be adjusted quite a bit. If you get a quality harness, such as a Simpson, they are very comfortable. But remember racing harnesses stay tight, so leaning forward to change your radio or reach into the passengers side is almost impossible.
